July Tick and heartworm reminder

Tick and Heartworm Season is Here!

Ticks and mosquitos are parasites that feed on the blood of mammals (dogs and outdoor cats).  While feeding they can transfer some significant bloodborne diseases like heartworm and Lyme disease.

It is now time to give the second dose of the heartworm, flea and tick preventative medication prescribed by your veterinarian.  This is to be given once monthly up to and including November.  Look out for your monthly reminders!

This video is of a tick brought in by one of our clients in June.  We sent the tick to the lab for identification and disease testing to ensure it was not carrying Lyme disease.
