At the Animal Hospital of River Oaks we truly trust the prescription pet foods that we recommend. This is because of the research and science applied in the development and the processes utilized in creating these medical grade foods. We take all recalls seriously and today we have learned of a HIlls voluntary recall. We would like to advise our canine clients who are feeding canned Hills products (only) to please look at the lot number and compare it to the chart provided. We have also given a link to the Hills site so you can read about the recall. We have verified that we do not have any affected foods in stock in our hospital and at this time it appears that we have not had any of the affected foods in our hospital, but to be fully safe we are advising that If you have any of these prescription foods in your home, please check the labels for the lot number. Hill’s Pet Nutrition learned of the potential for elevated vitamin D levels in some of our canned dog foods after receiving a complaint in the United States about a dog exhibiting signs of elevated vitamin D levels.
